A 1956 Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University graduate in 1956 with a Bachelor of Interior Design, Abdel-Meguid earned a Diploma in Art from the Academy of Art in Rome in 1959. He worked as a professor of Interior Design at the Faculty of Fine Art, Helwan University and collaborated with the late stage director and actor Karam Metawaa on stage, set and costume design for films such as Dawn of a New Day by Youssef Chahine and Love in Karnak by Ali Reda. He received many international and national awards including National Award from Venice Biennale in 1962. His paintings can be seen at the Egyptian Museum of Modern Art in Cairo, the Arab Industrialisation Organisation, AIO, a number of five-star hotels in Cairo and by many art collectors in Egypt, Italy and the Gulf countries.
